You will learn how to design a cartoon (the design) cut glass to a pattern, lead and solder your panel, roughly A4 in size.

An intensive fun day of learning, all from my 100% off grid studio and small holding in the rolling hills of Devon, Oak Meadow. In small groups of up to 6 people allowing for lots of one to one attention in my newly built studio. Here are some reviews from previous students..

Spent the morning taking out this beautiful victorian front door panel that has suffered the usual damage that happens when in a door. The repeated opening and shutting of a door over 100 years will create stress fractures in the lead, seers and glass and it starts to bow. So out it comes and off to my workshop to be restored back to as good as new!

Did an in situe repair on these georgous 1930’s windows in Exmouth, Devon today. Through constant banging of the front door, the panel to the right has broken its solders and the lead had given way.
So replaced the broken lead with some lead cut away from the H came normally used in the creation of a leaded light panel. Vertical soldering is allways a challenge as gravity likes to win, but its now all secure and ready for years to come.

Another fab weekend where I taught a one day stained glass course. My Students all producing really individual and georgous work, and an exellent interesting group to boot!
They learnt how to design a cartoon (pattern) cut glass, lead and solder. I have then cemented them, and will do the final polish up today before they get collected/posted out to the students.

Presenting my water lily triptych window. To be set within a stunning house in the pyrenees, France.
This georgous art nouveau style, watery window where I created my own fused bubbles within bubbles to really set this piece off.
Using also a complicated technique for the water within the circle, it has a beautiful flow running through the steel blue glass that I wanted to keep, which ment I had to cut each piece with the next and next…. piece in mind. Not just cutting and placing but making sure the lines followed through. You need to be very mindful of every score you make, and where the glass cut will end, not just for the piece your cutting. Difficult to explain and even more difficult to cut!!
Very happy customers especially as I hand delivered this piece to France myself (along with 2 other windows that were gifts for their wedding from others and one from groom to bride!) Check out my previous posts to check them out.

This beautiful piece is inspired by Japanese art work often depicting mountains and blossom.

A great idea for a combined wedding gift from friends, to friends. This piece depicts the mountain view of the Pyrenees from where the happy couple live in France. The Japanese symbol means friends/friendship, the apple blossom tree is the one that sits on their garden terrace over looking the mountains. And the scales/tiles in the bottom right are the traditional tiles used know the area and that sit on the The dragon barn a stunning holiday home set in the midi pyrenees next to where they live.

Using various techniques including kiln fired vitreous and enamel paints, silver stain, copper foiling (Tiffany style) and complex layered lead work on the tree.

This piece was actually made about 3 months ago as a wedding gift from groom to bride, but I couldn’t post it till after their beautiful wedding in the pyrenees which I had the abserlute pleasure of attending!
The story behind it is that they both work for @arcadia @abbynenuphar as a performer and Steve as a technician building the spider. One year they went to find their caravan they had been allocated and someone had merged their names, coming up with Stabby, it stuck!
Steve is a repeat customer and often goes for tattoo/graffiti style. So between us we came up with this Badboy!
