Soooo, exiting news in the world of Clearsands Glassworks. I’m upgrading my studio from 2 old garden sheds stuck together with the middle wall cut out, to 1 lovely Finnish built, *but wombled, sturdy new studio. It’s a bit bigger and much higher. All set on our amazing off grid small holding in Devon,near Exeter. A studio powered 100% by the sun.
I’m super exited, I’ve been wanting to change/upgrade my studio for some time now and been lucky enough to come across this beauty. Lots more work to do yet building the insides and finishing the roof but, It means I can be much better organised, less cluttered, more space, more students and my other half can have my old studio for his creations! It’s a win win!!
12 week stained glass course starting September where you can learn traditional leaded lights, copper foiling, Painting on glass and Mosaics. Whether you create a few smaller stained glass pieces using various techniques within the 12 week course or aim for a larger project spanning a few terms, its up to you!
Would you love to spend some time lost in learning a new skill, playing with light, colour and process. There is so much to learn and gives you a great sense of achievement as well as getting to meet some other wonderful like minded folk. I have been teaching for over 12 years now and I’ve been running these classes from our off grid small holding for over a year now and my students love it. Not only are they learning this heritage craft but also finding inspiration from the beautiful setting that is Oak meadow small holding just outside of Silverton, Exeter.

Finally finished my art nouveau fire screen!!! Heavily influenced by, in my eyes, one of the best artists ever, Alphonce Mucha. I am in love with his work and this piece clearly reflects that, whilst being my own design.
Using my beautifully talented friend @samanthaemanuel as my muse and using various techniques including painting, silverstain and etching to create this triptych piece that I’m very proud of.

I went and visited the abselutly breath taking chapel in France’s capital city. And oh my Gosh, it did not dissapoint. My heart was racing and I very nearly cried at just how spectacular it was. And it’s Huuuuuuggge!! Astonishing to think it was created in medieval times.
Super happy to finally be able to show you all this Hare and the Magpie I made a while ago for the lovely lily and Nick, who commissioned me to make this piece for their Truck home. Really enjoyed all the process in this panel and the detail. Love a bit of detail!! With painted and etched detailing
